Follow these tips to get the most out of your candle!

Melt

Every time you light your candle, you want the wax to melt to the edge of the candle to avoid tunneling.

To do this, burn your candle for 2-3 hours the first time you light it so the “burn pool” has time to reach the edges. Note: since some of the vintage objects on my site aren’t round (like planters) this isn’t always possible, but it’s best to get your wax pool as close as you can to the edges of the container.

For all subsequent burns, try to let the “burn pool” reach the edges each time - this will allow your candle to burn nice and evenly!

Trim

Trim your wicks to 1/4 inch before you light your candle! Every time! This will help stop soot from accumulating and keep your container nice and clean.

You can get a fancy tool to do this, but I just use my fingers! Make sure to do only do this when the candles are cold :)

Prepare

When you’re getting to the bottom of your candle, it’s safest to stop burning when there is only 1/4” of wax left.

When you get to this point, you can either get it refilled by me or prepare it to be used as a mug/planter etc!

A note:

A “side effect” of 100% soy wax candles is that they sometimes sweat when experiencing temperature changes! It looks like condensation and is wax and oil gathering on the surface of the candle.
Sweating does not affect the quality of the candle or the way it burns, so if you find that your candle is sweating, you can just wipe off the excess oil (and keep it in a room where you don’t open the windows).
